What are Customer Returned Goods

Customer returned goods are not necessarily used products. Goods sold by any manufacturer can be returned by retailer due to various reasons like transportation damage, accessories missing, surplus, etc. or by the end customer due to reasons like change of mind, did not like color, packaging damage, minor scratch, accessories missing, software defect etc. These products are restored to their original condition in case of a minor hardware issue. Which Goods Qualify as Customer Returned?

According to industry trends, 5-10% of all goods sold by the manufacturer are returned due a variety of reasons listed above and not necessarily due to any major shortcoming in the product. Now as per the Law, a product once returned cannot be sold as new whatever may be its condition and this is where UnBoxed Goods comes in to offer you value for money. The products are re-newed by undergoing a stringent quality check process by authorized company centres and then offered at discounted prices with UnBoxed Goods and after-sales support to customers seeking a smart alternative.

What are the delivery costs?

Free delivery promotions are limited to web orders only.

Cancellation and Returns Policy

How do I cancel an order on UnBoxed Goods?

If unfortunately you have to cancel an order, please do so within 48 hours of placing the order (or before the product is shipped) ONLY by calling us at xxx xxx xxxx.

For outright cancellations by you:

–     In case you have made an online payment and you cancel the order by calling us before your product has shipped, the entire amount will be refunded to your bank a/c within 7 working days as per our payment gateway partner rules.

Cancellation is not possible after your product has shipped.

–    It will ONLY be eligible for replacement, in case of manufacturing defects in the product.

Can I return online purchases?

In the unlikely event that any product you have ordered from us is not received in good condition, is damaged or defective, or if product delivered is different from what you had ordered, you may return the product unused, in the same condition as you received it, in its original packaging along with original tags, for an exchange, within 7 days from the date on which these goods are delivered.

Subject to an assessment or inspection prior to a refund.

  • Please ensure you retain your original tax invoice as well as all packaging, manuals and accessories to allow us to process the return in store. Our Call Centre will then oversee the refund process.
  • Orders may only be refunded to the Credit Card they were purchased on.
  • Orders for software, music, movies, games and dvd’s must be in original, unopened packaging; items must be unopened and unused.

Our delivery fee is non refundable unless otherwise stated.

CASES NOT ELIGIBLE FOR EXCHANGE

  • Exchange will not be processed on the basis of personal preference
  • Exchange will not be processed upon physical damage complaints after 7 days of delivery
  • Any product that is returned without all original packaging and accessories, including the retail box, manuals, cables, and all other items originally included with the product at the time of delivery
  • Any product from which the UPC (Universal Product Code) has been removed from its original packaging
  • Any product without a valid, readable, un-tampered serial number, including but not limited to products with missing, damaged, altered, or otherwise unreadable serial number

It is the customers responsibility to inspect their order on delivery to ensure it is what they expected and is free from defect. Should the customer waiver this right, they will not be able to claim for damages to the product once we deliver the product, we cannot be responsible for any damages that occur after delivery as this is beyond our control.

Can I buy Gift Vouchers online?

No. Unfortunately we do not offer Gift Card purchases online as yet. Please visit your nearest store for Gift Card purchases.

Why do you require a TV license and copy of ID for the purchasing of a TV?

The SABC requires a valid TV license as well as a copy of the license holders SA ID for all TV purchases within South Africa. Please contact our call center for more info on TV purchases.

Why do you need my ID or Passport number during the ordering process?

We aim to ensure your security whilst shopping with us online, we require either your ID number or Passport number as part of the ordering process for authentication purposes should you contact our Call Centre

What is 3D Secure?

3 Domain Security – is a new method of security mandated by the Card Associations to enhance the security of online transactions. Mastercard’s product is called “SecureCode” and Visa’s product is called “Verified by Visa”.

The 3D-Secure refers to three domains involved in the security they are

  • the Acquiring or Merchant’s bank
  • the Card Association’s financial networks ie Mastercard and Visa
  • the Issuing or Cardholder’s bank.

Very simply the system authenticates the cardholder before the transaction takes place by diverting the browser to the bank that issued the card, who then request some secret, perhaps a pin, from their cardholder that will conclusively prove that this actually is the cardholder entitled to use this card. Once they are satisfied that this is their cardholder they issue an authentication receipt which is then presented to the merchants bank along with the authorisation request. If the transaction is then approved by the issuing bank they may not charge the transaction back to the merchant because the cardholder disputes the transaction as not being originated by them.
